The Kubota M9540 Hydraulic pump is using Multipurpose Hydraulic & Gear oil stored in the Gear box. The Hydraulic/gear oil filter is important in order to avoid pump damage by the dirty hydraulic oil. Most of the time the pumps will loose the strength when the filter get plugged and the pumping volume will be reduced due to the flow restriction by the filter. It just a common sense
The Gear and Hydraulic/Gear oil also need to be replaced on schedule depending on the brand used. Some recommended at every 500hrs. The pump is providing the hydraulic power to the power steering, Loader. hydraulic shuttle, PTO shift and also three point hitch.
